These are the steps on how to enter State Forms: Illinois

  • Under 'State Information' details (from the Main Information Sheet), if you put a full-year resident in Illinois (IL), you'll see the corresponding state forms you need to fill up appear in red.
A. How to Enter Form IL- 1040 Pg 2

  1. For Form IL- 1040 Pg 2, all you need to do is to look for the red cells that need to fill in. First, answer Yes if the taxpayer wants to file his return electronically.

  2. Under 'Direct Deposit of a refund is available for e-filing and paper returns,' we prefer to choose the option where the refund is deposited into a different account.

3. Then, enter the bank details as needed. Please make sure they are 100% correct.
5. Lastly, click No if the taxpayer doesn't want any representative. Otherwise, Yes, then put the corresponding details.
B. If the taxpayer has two states of residency in a year, you need to fill it up as shown below; the state forms you need to enter will automatically appear.
